Sibyl Vane - Character Analysis

Sibyl Vane is such an innocent and kind hearted character which doesn't always work to her advantage as it makes it easy for people to take advantage of her compassionate side. She is such a beautiful and natural women which is one of reason Dorian became so attracted to her.

"I love Sibyl Vane. I want to place her on a pedestal of gold and to see the world worship the woman who is mine. What is marriage? An irrevocable vow. You mock at it for that. Ah! don't mock. It is an irrevocable vow that I want to take. Her trust makes me faithful, her belief makes me good. When I am with her, I regret all that you have taught me. I become different from what you have known me to be. I am changed, and the mere touch of Sibyl Vane's hand makes me forget you and all your wrong, fascinating, poisonous, delightful theories." 

She is so pure which is something Dorian used to be until it got spoiled which is why he is so attracted to her as he sees himself in her and being with her makes him feel like a better and more kinder soul. However she is too naive and doesn't like to believe that someone could be motivation purely by self interest which in a way makes her more vulnerable. 

"Dorian, Dorian," she cried, "before I knew you, acting was the one reality of my life. It was only in the theatre that I lived. You came oh, my beautiful love! and you freed my soul from prison. You taught me what reality really is. You had made me understand what love really is. My love! My love! Prince Charming! Prince of life! I have grown sick of shadows. You are more to me than all art can ever be. What have I to do with the puppets of a play?" 

When things get too much with Dorian as she has had such a sheltered life before meeting him she struggles greatly and suicide becomes the only way out of it for her. This was a turning point for dorian as it is when he realises he is becoming a monster and notices a change in the painting for the first time. 
On screen I see my character as a beautiful women who almost sparkles and is like a diamond to Dorian as she is what makes him want to be a better man. I would imagine that she would wear a lot of white and pastel colours as she is such a pure character. When designing my character I decided I wanted to base it around when she was heart broken just before she killed herself and thought about what makes someone look like they are upset and what signs show someone is or has been crying. When thinking about this things like Swollen eyes, puffy face, red eyes, runny nose, slumped posture and the face may be quite red and worked up. 
When I create and plan the makeup for my character I will look closely as scenes where people are crying to see what other makeup artists have done to show the character crying so that I can make it look as real as possible.
