How I will show Claudia in my images
I would make my character more touch as there are a lot of supernatural characters and would also probably encourage her to become supernatural. I would need to make my character realise that life isn't the way she had see on Tv so would make her experience a lot outside of films and Tv which would make her a stronger character. She would be desirable but would have something that is different about her to make her stand out. She would appeal to the audience demographic as she will stand out because she is so beautiful and almost glows whenever you see her however inside she would be feeling very anxious and will fear a lot of things due to to her agoraphobia which she had under control when she was with Quentin as he made her feel safe but now without him she has it worst then ever.
I chose the word white rose as white suggests purity and Claudia seems quite pure but also has quite a dark side to her which is why I like the ideas of having blood on the rose from her crying as she has become a vampire and misses Quentin so is quite upset. Also the white rose symbolises Quentin as he used to always bring white roses to her because they were her favourite.
For my images I quite like the idea of her kneeling down in a forest kind of area with a white rose in her hands as she has come across one in the forest. It automatically reminded her of Quentin which makes her reminisce on the good times they had.
I want to leave her hair down and straight to make her look put together and pretty with very subtle makeup as she will be crying.
How I am going to show Mrs Laderman's alter ego in my images
When thinking about how I could show Mrs Laderman I struggled as I knew it would be very hard for my to find a 40 year old women who would be able to model for me but then I came to the realisation that Mrs Laderman is supposed to have an alter ego and her alter ego can be a younger version of herself who can shape shift as in true blood there is already shape shifters which means that my character would be able to fit in. She would be quite a dark and mysterious character that wouldn't leave her house very often but when she does leave her house it is only at night. Even though Mrs Laderman is quite mysterious and strange she would also be very kind hearted when it comes to Claudia and would help her to control her Agoraphobia because she is struggling more then ever now that she has moved to a new place.
I want her to look quite unhealthy and tired but also quite vulnerable as my picture will be based around just after she has shape shifted so I want to make her look dirty and very tired/unwell but will get my model to wear a strapless top so that from the shoulders up she will look even more vulnerable as in true blood after someone has shape shifted and turned back to their natural self their clothes are ruined and they are less in their natural state. I will backcomb the hair to make it look messy and will out leaves and twigs in the hair to show that she has been in the woods or some kind of forest.
Mrs Laderman moving to this new town has an alter ego that is 20 years younger then she is now. I want the images to show Mrs Laderman's younger self when she first became a shape shifter as she is going to look vulnerable an helpless. However she causes trouble around the town and only awakens at night. The colour of Mrs Laderman's eyes change colour and become black with an orange strip on the outside which looks very creepy and striking.

Using colour sprays in the hair
Here we was asked to make our own characters and to decide how old they were and what characteristics they had. So here is my character her name is Ruby she is 18 years old and she is very shy but shows her true personality through her style and hair. I decided to french plait the sides of the hair but sectioned the top of the hair of so that I could crimp it as we also had to use two techniques we had been taught. So I chose crimping and back combing as this meant I could create extra volume in the middle sections of the hair which was going to get crimped, back combed and tied back. I feel that I was able to use these techniques well and the hairstyle came out exactly how I had planned for it to. However I feel that when I used the colour sprays for the hair I sprayed it too closely to the hair and it stopped the pattern from the lace coming out as detailed as it could have if I was to spray it further away. So if I was to recreate this hairstyle I would use lace that has bigger holes or a more detailed pattern and would spray it from further away to make the pattern more prominent. I wouldn't have used any of these techniques for my characters as it doesn't really fit with the mood of the show and is more of a punk/ fashion catwalk on an Alexander McQueen style.Wednesday, 23 March 2016
Contemporary Victorian Hairstyles
To start you need to section the hair into two sections. When trying to make a zig zag parting I struggled so only made it zig zag half way then made it straight which I liked in the end. Now that you have your two sections you need to curl all of the hair in the sections then once its all curled back comb the hair so that it creates its own shape then secure it with curvy grips and hair pins to create two big/fluffy buns like the image we was working from. I feel that something I struggled with was creating the zig zag sectioning as it's not something I'm used to doing and it was hard keeping the parts I had already sectioned while moving is down to the bottom of the hair. To improve I will just need to practise creating more unique hairlines as this will help me when working with other peoples ideas as some will be very different and I need to be prepared to create anything. However I feel that back combing and creating the buns went well as they were quite sturdy and after I had backcombed them they had natural shape anyway.
This look was interesting to create but I don't feel it would fit with either of my characters as it just wouldn't fit with the tv series as it is too contemporary.

Possible hairstyles for Mrs Laderman
Here I have created a loose bun with quite a lot of fly away hairs. I feel this would look nice in my images but I don't want her hair to make her look childish or styled. I want the hair to look messy like she has been through the forest and has shape shifted and is now a very vulnerable and helpless lady. This hairstyle wouldn't help me show this.

Here I left the hair down with waves and slightly backcombed to make it look quite messy then to add to the look I added leaves into the hair and plan to add some trigs as Mrs Laderman's hair needs to look messy and like she has been dragged through the forest by whatever creature she shape shifted into as she cant quite control it at the point in time I had chose.I feel that this will probably end up being the hairstyle I use for my images.

Here is a dutch braid around the head I thought about using for my character which looks quite messy down to me pulling parts out to make it look more messy. However looking at this hairstyle I feel that it probably would look too styled as it is a plait which would suggest that time has been put into the hairstyle and her appearance.

Here is one of my last ideas for Mrs Laderman's hair which may look a bit too childish/ young as already I have made Mrs Laderman's alter ego 20 years younger to help me find a model which still is probably pushing it a bit. This hairstyle would probably fit more if Mrs Laderman was to be a strong character that is a saviour type as it is a hairstyle that occurs in a lot of films for the main female role.
